Jesus Christ said, “I will build My church” (Matthew 16:18). He built it and remains the Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22; 4:15). So what jobs did He give His followers who would become His Church?
After His death and resurrection, Jesus gave His disciples their marching orders. He commanded, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).
Jesus also gave His followers the job of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the whole world (Mark 16:15; Matthew 24:14).
